BusinessFirst Insurance Company and affiliate RetailFirst Insurance Company comprise RetailFirst Insurance Group. RetailFirst Insurance Company was previously the Florida Retail Federation Self Insurers Fund—which began in 1979 and grew to become one of the largest self-insurance funds in the state of Florida. In 2011, The Fund converted to RetailFirst, a stock insurance company within a mutual holding company system.

BusinessFirst Insurance Company was formed in 2003 to provide workers’ compensation insurance to Florida business owners and has since expanded to employers in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Led by a group of highly experienced industry leaders, BusinessFirst has a proven track record of staying on top of the changing workers’ comp market, products and policyholder needs. Each of our board members has been with the insurance group for more than 20 years.
